Hi, welcome to my website (please scroll down to see the rest of this page)

Here are some of my models that were sold by me under the name Howard Metcalfe Models, please note that I no longer make or sell them but have passed on the manufacturing and selling rights for Moonraker, Vendetta, Chandelle, Phantom and Focke Wulf to Phil Dorren and Crossfire to Peter Ross (their contact info is just above the last photo at the bottom of this page). Please also note that my F15 Eagle, Tornado, Smarty Pants or Starlight are not being manufactured by anyone at present. I am slowly rebuilding this site to include more personal model stuff but for the moment I am leaving most of the site intact as the gen. on the models is still valid (except for all the pricing information as it is now all out of date) until Phil and Peter can get there own websites up and running.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my many customers for their loyal and ever courteous support, something that been of immense satisfaction over the past 16 years. I have no plans to retire from the scene but will continue as a freelance designer and have quite a number of designs as yet unpublished. One way or another you will be seeing my designs around for some while to come yet, have no fear.

Click on a thumbnail to enlarge it or on the model name to go straight to the page.

About my models Just to whet your appetite there will be a free plan for a Concorde, don't get too excited you hardened Radio Control buffs, this is for Free Flight rubber and is only 8" span!!!! If you are just starting Radio Control I whole heartedly recommend my trainer Moonraker which has established quite a reputation for itself here in the UK.

Most of my models fall into more than one catagory, please use the links beside the photos above to get more details:

PSS slope soarers: F15, F4, Fw Ta152, Tornado  I.C. power scale: F15, F4, Fw Ta152, Tornado

Electric power: Crossfire, Smarty Pants, F4  Basic trainers: Moonraker, Smarty Pants (possibly), Chandelle (surprisingly)

Advanced trainers: Moonraker, Chandelle  Fun aerobatic: Moonraker, Chandelle, Vendetta, Smarty Pants, Crossfire

School yard: Smarty Pants, Crossfire  Indoor rubber power: Starlight, Concorde

About the site I have tried to make the site load as fast as possible which has caused some of the photos to be rather poor, I will shorlty replace the worst ones as I now know how to do it better. If you are an R/C beginner I have a special page which has many FAQ's to help you get into the hobby. The sequence of the pages is shown in the order of the links at the top and bottom of this page, click on a link to go direct to that page. Apart from this home page there is also a complete list of page links in the left hand margin. Sorry to say the site never seems to get complete, I am a slow builder! Anyway for the present it will have to suffice, but I will add more details as fast as I can. If you have any difficulties or would like to comment on the site please let me know.

A little about me Yes that's me in the photo with just some of my models. For more years than I care to remember I have been a designer, builder and flyer of model aircraft. From 1985 to 2003 I was a manufacturer of mainly R/C (radio control) model aircraft kits which I sold by mail order world wide. Presently I am having a lot of fun designing and buiding free flight models for Rapier power.

Contacting me If you would like to contact me by e-mail then contact me at: howard(usual at symbol)howmet.eclipse.co.uk. If you prefer to write to me my address is Howard Metcalfe, Brook Cottage, Wintershill, Durley, Southampton SO32 2AH, UK.

Contact Phil Dorren for Moonraker, Vendetta, Chandelle, Phantom and Focke Wulf by telephone at 01288 341117 or email phild(usual at symbol)waitrose.com  Phil works primarily as a consultant in computing support will and sell the models via mail order as well as at future shows. He may also have something ready very soon for those of you who prefer to concentrate on electric flight, the recent advances in electric power have enabled him to finish off what I had made a start on with the Electric Moonraker and develop electric versions of Chandelle and Vendetta as well.

Contact Pete Ross for Crossfire by telephone and fax on 01749 679739 or e-mail at pete.ross(usual at symbol)totalise.co.uk.Peter has been a life long modeller and enjoyed flying his Crossfire so much that (like the electric shaver man) when asking about a replacement kit from me he started enquiring about producing it himself. Peter is already producing upgraded Crossfires kits with profiled fuselage sides.
